  • dogs (animals)
  • frames (ornament areas) - Enclosing borders. In bookbinding and printing contexts made up of separate elements showing no evidence of having been designed to function together as a border. Distinguished from "compartments" which are decorative borders created as single design units enclosing the letterpress of a title page.
  • poodles (breed) - Breed of dog thought to have originated in Germany, but so poular in France it is the national dog of that country. The poodle was developed as a water retriever, and is clipped with its distinctive coat to increase its efficiency in the water. The poodle has been bred in three size varieties: standard, miniature, and toy.
