- children (people by age group) - People in the earliest developmental stage of life.
- dots - Small marks or spots, used singly or in patterns. They have been used as decorative motifs in on ritual objects in early China to denote fertility, in early Celtic and Angl-Saxon manuscripts where they were commonly used to embellish initials letters, in heraldry, and in the decoration of glass and pottery.
- progressive proofs - Set of proofs showing the sequential and cumulative steps of a color printing process as each color is added. They are used to determine color density and the effect of each color on the other colors; any color corrections can be formulated for the platemaker. For a set of proofs showing each color from the process on an individual impression, use "color proofs."
- snow (precipitation) - Frozen precipitation in the form of white or translucent hexagonal ice crystals that fall in soft, white flakes American Heritage Dictionary (2000)
- snowshoes - Devices enabling the wearer to walk across deep snow without sinking and consisting generally of a light racket-shaped frame strung with a network of thong or hide straps and attached to the wearer's feet.
